My Story

Hi! Nice to greet you, I am a coach and a motivational speaker. Today the name Jyoti Bharti has an identity that holds all of my triumphs and failures, but this wasn’t the case initially. I was born into a humble family in Raebareli, and yet I had the luxury of freedom. My parents were well-educated, they raised me emotionally strong and independent. I wanted to study well to accomplish my dreams but my parents assumed marrying me into a family in Mumbai city, will bring me opportunities I couldn’t fathom. So, suddenly at the age of 16, a girl from a small city in Uttar Pradesh who had merely finished her schooling was in Mumbai, unaware of the city’s language, culture, and the hustle this place demands. Well, unfortunately, things did not go as my parents imagined, and I was thrown into the four walls of a flat with ghunghats and 24/7 kitchen duty. My in-laws were conservative and repressive. They were the opposite of what a young girl needs when moving into a completely new atmosphere. My hardships had no bounds, I had a good husband, and two lovely kids but I was in a city that was not treating me well, few bullied me for my appearance, and others due to my naiveness.
I was not okay to live my life like this hence I planned of moving out, soon I realized one needs to be financially stable to stand out in life. Though I was perplexed by the idea of it I came across a training program that helped me refine my personality, soft skills, and public speaking. This first move of mine turned out to be my stepping stone to success. Amidst this, someone offered me the opportunity to work and I grabbed that to achieve financial independence. I thought all will be fine now as I had got a platform through which I could start working towards my dream; earning and flourishing in life, and then I met with a major accident and saw my closest friend passing beside me. I picked myself up from the grief and I lost my brother and mother in consecutive years. I was doing my best in my life while carrying immense pain in my heart because I had two kids dependent on me. I still remember the day I was going to give a speech on the stage, a moment I would otherwise cherish when I received a call; my father was no longer with us.

The shattered me continued with that show, my sorrows were piling up, and unaware of this I was slipping into depression. It took me five years of this misery and I read something that highly resonated with me,
“Would you be strongly mental or mentally strong?” Dr Vivek Bindra
I chose to be the latter, I again fought a lonely battle for a long while and found people were ready to help me, it only took the courage to ask for help. It is nerve-wracking till you take the first step toward change and everything falls into place. Soon, I was doing holistically well in life, expanding my horizons internationally, and experiencing a lifestyle one could only dream about. This shift in my identity; this second chance at life inspired me to become that guiding light to other women finding their calling. I want women to know of life prospects distant from familial duties, caregiving, and ghunghats.
